Mode of action: The additive and synergistic effects of bioactive compounds from oil macerates and essential oils of the selected medicinal plants result in the antimicrobial and anti-viral activity, anti-inflammatory effect as well as positive effect on wound healing and re-epithelialization of the cervical cells. Oil macerates and essential oils maintain a favorable micro-climate of the vagina due to the prevention of dryness of the mucous membranes and creation of the protective layer. The product is soluble at body temperature ensuring excellent coating of the genital tract mucosa and prevents irritation. The optimal retention of the pessary in the vagina was achieved by optimizing the ratio of beeswax to Whitepsol E75. Pessary is sufficiently compact and solid, ensuring its integrity during the removal from the blister. The selection of appropriate base components (beeswax and hard fat) ensures that the texture of the pessary does not irritate the lining of the genital tract during the application. The oil extracts and essential oils have also a deodorizing effect which removes the odor of some pathological conditions.
